C45 Grade Plates are medium-carbon, unalloyed engineering steel plates generally specified under EN 10083-2 as C45 (material number 1.0503). The grade offers a useful combination of strength, hardness, machinability and heat-treatment response, making it suitable for demanding mechanical and general engineering applications.
C45 Grade Plates can be supplied in suitable conditions such as normalized, annealed or heat-treated conditions depending on the required application. The material is commonly selected for components requiring higher strength and wear resistance than conventional mild steel.
